CRA YEAR END REGATTA - DECEMBER 7, 2002
After racing in the first two hot rums after practicing on the Saturday before, we decided to finish out the original CIA schedule and compete in the CRA Year End Regatta. The course and rules are the same as with the Summer Beer Cans. It was two races and we were a bit short handed (seven total) but we improved from the first race to the second.
Our crew work continued to improve as the afternoon went on and by the end of the race we were really starting to feel confident. Below are two really nice pictures that were taken from DA-Woody.
We were able to keep pace with the other boats in the bay and in race 2 we managed to move up a bit.
Matt and Scott are really coming together as a strong team on the bow.
IN the back of the boat, Lisa Marie and Sue really got into their rhythm on the downwind legs as William honed his main trimming skills.
By the end of the day we were pretty happy with our performance and excited about racing again the next day in the finale of Hot Rum.
